Volunteer Projects
What do our projects typically look like?
In 2025, will be uncovering primarily pre-contact archaeological materials, which will aid in our understanding of southwest Montana's vibrant history. The research topics vary from Pleistocene landscapes (BEAAR Project) to archeoastronomy (Beartooth Foothills Project).
Each of these projects will involve camping for 4-10 days at the project location. Some projects will require freeze-dried foods due to space limitations while traveling. The Jefferson River and Trail Creek projects will not have this limitation, so we'll have home-cooked meals every day. Send us a message and we'll let you know what's on the menu!
Regardless, please send us an email to ask about availability! If you are interested in supporting our cause, you might consider joining our membership, or donating!

If our projects dates do not work with your schedules or if you would like to explore the wider world of archaeology in the mountain west, please check out the projects offered by our partners at PCRG!
We are very excited to partner with PCRG—one of the leading archaeological educators in the Rocky Mountains. They have an excellent set of projects lined up for the 2025 season!
